I am not a ‘foodie’ by any stretch of the imagination, as I do not have a sophisticated palate and am not a culinary guru. I am not as picky of an eater as I was when I was a child, but I do not venture out much past tried and true standbys and staples in the kitchen. I just know what I like and don’t like, and Italian food is definitely one of my favorites.
Irregardless of how much I love Italian food, I will never be able to eat it again without thinking of tonight’s comment uttered by my special friend. When describing an Italian restaurant that he used to frequent, he painted a vivid image of it for me when he recalled that, “The food was pretty good, but the place smelled like wet dog.” Check, please!
