Tis the season to be jolly and . . . sick. This week, the staff at the day shelter for homeless men where I work could be divided into three groups-people getting over being sick, people in the throes of being sick, and people trying to avoid getting sick. We were not fully staffed any day this week, and this was not lost on our guests. The gentlemen notice when a staff member is not at work, and they are quick to voice their concern. This morning, one gentleman showed his concern in a practical and sweet way.
