Today’s gratitude blog is a departure from the previous ones, in that I am feeling grateful for what has yet to happen. It is a kind of anticipatory gratitude, as I cannot help but have a grateful heart when I look to the day ahead. While I have much to look forward to every day, there are two things that I am particularly giving thanks for on this Friday.
I am grateful for the opportunity to attend a continuing education course today. I am smart enough to know that I don’t know everything and never will, so, I am grateful for the time to further my professional knowledge and skills. I enjoy learning, especially when it enables me to helps others. The other part of continuing education that I enjoy is that I usually reconnect with former colleagues, run into friends, and make new connections. I tend to come away feeling more knowledgeable and better connected professionally.
I am grateful that I will end the day in the company of friends. When work ends, the weekend begins, along with some much-anticipated time with dear old friends and new friends. I am thankful for this time to gather together to eat, drink, and be merry, as we revisit old memories and create new ones. It makes my heart happy and is good for my soul.
The day has barely started, but I am already grateful for it. I may not be sharing a gratitude post for the next couple of days, but I certainly will be sharing that gratitude with the people around me.
Just one thing each day . . .
