What a Difference a Day Makes

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday’s not so good day mercifully gave way to a better day today. In fact, it has been a good day, a really good day, already.

Since I went to sleep feeling down in the dumps, I knew that as soon as I opened my eyes this morning that I needed to be intentional in moving myself to higher ground. So, that’s what I did, and I did not do it alone, either, thankfully.

I am thankful that my boyfriend, John, began my day with reminders that yesterday was behind me and that I didn’t need to let it weigh me down any longer. He also reminded me that I am loved, appreciated, and supported, and that’s just the jump start that I needed to begin the day with a renewed spirit. He always inspires me to be a better person, and after our chat, I was more than ready to be better than I was yesterday. Much better!

I am thankful that I was able to spend the morning with my younger daughter. Even though we spent our time going to her eye exam and running errands, it was still time well spent. She is wickedly funny and enjoyable to be around, and she makes even mundane tasks much more fun. She also inspires me to want to be my best, in order to give her my best.

I am thankful that I get to end this day as one of my best friend’s +1 at a wedding. Whenever we are together, hilarity ensues. Laughter truly is the best medicine, and I am looking forward to a heaping dose tonight.

This day is far from over, but it just keeps getting better and better. That’s reason enough to be grateful, and I am. I truly am.

Just one thing each day. . .
